In practice, a Brat submits, but on their own terms — talking back, testing limits, and turning “no” into a game that ends in exactly the discipline they wanted the whole time. It’s playful defiance more than resistance: the fun is in the chase, the eye-roll, the deliberate almost-disobedience, and the satisfaction of finally being reined in. Brats tend to pair especially well with partners who enjoy the banter as much as the payoff.
