Yes. Creating an account, building personas, searching, messaging, joining groups and events, and the core AI image studio are all free. Some extras may use tokens down the line, but we'll always be clear about what's paid before you pay for anything.
No. SafeHaven is a social network for the kink and BDSM community. Some people come for connection, some to learn, some for events, some for play — SafeHaven is the room, you decide what happens in it.
We'll be straight with you: messages are encrypted at rest, and locations are blurred to a broad area, so a stolen database dump is far less useful. But we're not "zero-knowledge" — we hold the encryption key, so it is not end-to-end encrypted yet, and a court order or a breach of us is a real risk. Screenshots can also always happen; no app can honestly promise "screenshot-proof." Nothing online is ever 100% private, and we'd rather you know our real limits than believe an inflated promise.
Yes. SafeHaven is an adults-only platform. Every visitor confirms they are 18 or older before entering, and the site is not intended for minors.
Every image on SafeHaven — whether generated with the AI studio or uploaded by a member — is reviewed before it can appear publicly in the members' gallery. Private images you keep to yourself follow the same honest-privacy protections as the rest of the platform.
SafeHaven was built new and mobile-first, with up to 3 unlinked personas per account, native search filters (including "NOT" filters for hard limits), visible trust tiers with community vouching, and a free weekly AI image studio. FetLife has been the scene's long-standing home since 2008; we built SafeHaven as a modern alternative, not a replacement for what people already have there. See the full comparison on the FetLife alternative page.
Yes. Every account can create up to 3 separate personas — for example, a public self, a private-play self, and an organizer self. None of them are linked to each other or to your real name in anything shown to other members.
It's a free, NSFW-friendly AI image studio included with every account. Type a plain idea and get a polished image with realistic anatomy (clean faces and hands). Every member gets free image credits that refill every week; keep your images private or share them to the members' gallery. Uploads are supported too, and every image is reviewed before it goes public.
No. SafeHaven is not a data broker, and we're not in the business of selling member information to third parties.
No. Your personas share no visible link to each other or to your real name. To everyone else, each persona simply reads as its own person.
Verified means an outside identity check confirmed you're a real adult. Vetted goes further, layering in community vouching. Passing either earns a visible badge other members can trust before they ever message you. We store only what's required to verify you, and it never appears on your public profile.
Never publicly. Your personas use handles you choose. The only time we ask for your legal identity is optional verification, and even then it never appears on your profile.
